Account Security
You should protect your account like you would protect your house. There's millions of malicous people on the internet who enjoy gaining access to things they're not supposed to, and RSCEmulation is no exception. Many players get 'hacked' daily due to them not following the steps below.
1. Whilst sharing your character isn't against the rules, we strongly advise against it as we've seen players back-stab their friends for items all too often. There's no real reason to share your account and you're risking all your hard work every-time you do it. It doesn't always mean your friend is evil either, what happens if he hasn't secured his computer and gets 'hacked' loosing all your items? It's really not worth the risk.
2. There's many RuneScape Classic private servers out there and a lot of players play more than one. Unfortunately, there's malicious server owners out there who will try to login to RSCEmulation using the same login credentials you used on their server. It's been known that owner server owners purposely drop players items so they'll want to quit and play their server instead of RSCEmulation. Don't let it happen. Always use a unique password for RSCEmulation that no-one else knows.
3. Don't accept bots or applications from other players. Not only is this against the rules but there's a large chance they will be infected and used solely to steal your password. We've always updating our bot detection and even if you don't loose your items you'll get banned eventually.
4. Use a secure password. It's possible to brute force passwords on any website, so make sure your password is incredibly secure with both upper-case and lower-case letters, as well several numbers. The longer, the better.
If you follow all of the above steps you'll find the likelihood of your account being accessed by another player very, very slim. Although we'll try our best to get your items back if your account does get compromised, it's now always possible. It's your responsibility to secure your accounts and characters. We've spent days and days securing our systems, but all of that is pointless if you don't do your bit.
